Gooey Chewy Pretzel Bars

I have a thing for salty and sweet treats.
Have you ever been eating chips and salsa, for instance, and then you suddenly have to have something sweet?
I know you have.
So you eat a bowl of ice cream and feel satisfied, right?
Wrong.
All that sweetness leaves you wanting a little salt again.
It's a serious problem. #onlyinAmerica

You can rest easy now though because I have come up with a solution.
Gooey Chewy Pretzel Bars.  Chocolaty, salty, marshmallowy, crunchy sweetness to the rescue!
Yes. That just happened.

Gooey Chewy Pretzel Bars
by Back For Seconds

  • 1 box devils food cake mix
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 cups broken pretzels
  • 3 cups mini marshmallows (or 28 large)
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • sea salt to taste (optional)
Preheat oven to 350*
Melt butter in a 9x13" baking dish and sprinkle cake mix evenly on top pressing down slightly. Scatter pretzel pieces, then marshmallows, then chocolate chips. Pour condensed milk over the top and if desired, sprinkle with sea salt.
Bake for 25 min. Let cool and cut into bars.

These look simply mouth-watering! Nice solution to the "must have salty/sweet" dilemma. My children love both pretzels and marshmallows. Will definitely have to try these.
